This place is so good! I used to come here years ago but moved away. I moved back and this place might be even better than ever. Food and service were both 10/10. I usually like traditional cilantro and onion tacos but the steak gringo style tacos here absolutely SLAP! Food comes out as soon as I can grab my salsa from the salsa bar and my tray was brought to me before could even make it back to the counter.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Zona Fresca for years and still consider it one of my favorite spots for fresh, flavorful food. I typically order the shrimp tacos, which are usually delicious and well-balanced. Their taquitos are really good too. Recently, though, I had an experience that caught me completely off guard. The base of my tacos were loaded with so much raw onion that I had an immediate, involuntary reaction and had to spit it out… something I found embarrassing, especially while dining in. After apologizing profusely to my partner while having a good laugh at myself, I scooped out the remaining onion from the taco and had to take a photo because the experience was one for the books, that’s for sure. Imagine taking a bite out of an apple… except it’s a raw white onion. That pretty much sums it up. After seeing other food quality comments in recent reviews, I can’t help but wonder if there’s been a change in kitchen staff. That said, the customer service remains excellent, prices are competitive, and the core menu is still strong. I truly believe this is something they can fix, and I really hope they do, because Zona Fresca is still a place I want to love going to.
Very good service even on a busy Thursday night. The food came out within minutes and was good. I got the charred chicken burrito. My only complaint is that it was pretty wet from the beans but other than that I would come back again.
